Salaam, Dr. Watson. I wanted to ask you whether they require PM&DC registration if I want to apply for residency. Thank you!

 

Wsalam. For usmle, pmdc registration is not a must.

 

So if I pass USMLE, they won't require a certificate of good standing from PM&DC? I'm a recent graduate from China and PM&DC is asking us to sit for the NEB exam if we want to get registered and start our house job. I, however, want to apply for U.S. I've heard that one can sit for the USMLE without registration from PM&DC but when the time comes to get matched, they ask for a CGS or some proof of registration with one's native country. Is that true? Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
