Revised Criteria for PMDC CME/CDE 2015

The Management Committee of PM&DC in its meeting held on 22 September 2015 decided to waive off the requirement of submission of certification of continuous medical education (CME) / continuous dental education (CDE) for renewal of registration of doctors with the Council, till 31st December 2015. The Committee observed that the concept of CME/CDE is gaining wide-spread international recognition and needs to be implemented in Pakistan too. This will serve as a tool for not only helping in updating a doctor's skills but also serve to repose greater trust of the public in the medical / dental profession. However, the CME/ CDE system need's to be modified so that it is more user friendly and gradually be built up to rigorous international standards.
The Committee discussed and approved simplified criteria for CME/CDE which will be implemented in the country with effect from 01st January 2016.

For USMLE exams you can sit them even during your medical school and after graduation as well.
In short you dont need PMDC to sit USMLE exams because USMLE exams is for licensure in the US just like PMDC which is a licencing exam for Pakistan.So, you dont need it.
