PMDC admin playing with students' future

ISLAMABAD - The deceptive attitude of the administration of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has not only deprived hundreds of students of having access to their results but has also raised questions regarding the transparency in RMP examination held last month.
Earlier, Dr Nadeem Akbar, Registrar PMDC, had assured while talking to TheNation that the results of the said exam would be uploaded soon at the Council’s website so that the students could know their results.
But unfortunately, his commitment like many other commitments, which PMDC makes every now and then, proved false. It is relevant to mention here that TheNation had reported last month that the Council would deliberately conceal the results due to the fact that different controversies had emerged regarding the transparency of RMP exams.
PMDC has deliberately victimised the students by failing them in RMP exam to take ‘revenge’ from the students for having dared to move the Lahore High Court against the aristocratic and bureaucratic attitude of PMDC.
Through TheNation, the students are demanding of the authorities concerned to take notice of the highhandedness of the PMDC administration and bring the black sheep to book who are putting the future of thousands of students at stake for their own vested interests.
Of the 507 students who appeared in the Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) exams held on June 20, only 18 were declared successful, one of the lowest passing percentage of the candidates in the history of the aforesaid examination.
The aggrieved students are in shock and protesting against the unreasonable attitude of the PMDC administration for deliberately failing them due to the certain obvious reasons.
Later, the Council concealed the result details thus adding to the misery of the student. The result was declared right after five days of the commencement of examination in unusual haste, which also makes the entire affair quite suspicious.
It is to be mentioned here that the students, upon approaching the Council, were refused to be given the mark sheets without any solid reasons.
After the lapse of several weeks, the Council has not fulfilled its promise and students are deprived of having access to their result cards.
