MPH. MASTERS OF PUBLIC HEALTH

    Recently a lot of students are trying to by pass pmdc exam and they are going in different countries like Australia. Germany . England. Usa for mph. WELL THE QUESTION IS. IS IT WORTH IT?AND WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF FUTURE JOBS AFTER MPH IN PAKISTAN AND OTHER COUNTRIES. AND THIRDLY WHY IS IT SO THAT ALL THESE COUNTRIES OFFER MPH SO READILY WHILE THEY DENY ADMISSION IN CLINICAL SPECIALITIES OR MARK THEM WITH HIGH REQUIREMENTS? THE OVERALL GESTURE IS THAT IS REALLY MPH WORTH DOING? DOES IT OFFER A CAREER? WHAT CAN BE THE CAREER AFTER DOING MPH FROM AUSTRALIA OR ENGLAND?
    i hope some one will elaborate the answers for questionsi have in my mind.

    yes their is a future in MPH but it requires little struggle. I have passed PMDC exam, Saudi Medical Board exam.
    Now doing MPH in Islamabad. During my studies i am getting job offers.
    So the bottom line is pass PMDC exam.

    MPH is a non clinicl degree and one without MBBS can also do it after BSC in administration studies such as BBA or MBA etc. Thats why its requirments are not same as those of clinical specialities.
    The future for MPH would be having administrative job like Administrator in a hospital (Dont expect that you would be MS/Administrator in a government hospital straight away after MPH :p , its a long journey) or jobs in WHO or NGOs doing researchs/surveys / studies etc etc. It wont include any clinical jobs.
    One can not bypass PMDC exam by doing MPH, one would have to take PMDC exam if he/she wants to practice in Pakistan as a doctor.
    Think if you really want such non-clinical jobs? then go for MPH otherwise stick with your clinical path.

    It is an emerging field plus no inflation yet. In countries lije pakistan NGO's and some healthcare organizations offer job for it

    Should we look for PMDC recognised MPH course or only HEC recognition is enough for a good job.

    Hec recognition is enough as its not a medicine practice degree.
