Medical Internship in Pakistan vs China

Hi every one, Please share ur internship experience in Pakistan here. I always suggest that if u have option of doing internship in China, do it there under supervision of ur teachers. It will be better than doing in Pakistan with least teaching. I would like to know every one's views about it.

 

Being banned in gov hospitals in Pakistan and not finding in proper teaching hospitals,its better in china,so now a days China

 

i would say that it is a great trouble to find internship and then complete it, u have to take many headaches in doing so. In your own university hospital, you are known to the environment and teachers, so it would make you feel comfortable in doing internship there. Coming to Pakistan for internship seems much hassle when i see my past experiences and those of others.
First to find hospital which is offering internship, which is a hard work nowadays, and then giving them their asked price for it and getting no good in return, as many hospitals have no set schedule for internship. They just let you come to hospital and do at your own schedule, and take money for just letting you roam in the hospital. No one takes interest in why you came, you have to ask doctors every time for any thing you dont understand. No one would guide you literally.
Very few hospitals have set schedules for internships, but I dont have recent info on that. any one having info regarding such hospitals should share that here.

 

Well i shall prefer China because they they could provide me all the facilities with best environment and also there are many best occasions for me to work in China after completing my internship in China so i will always prefer China instead of Pakistan

 

Well at present the Government of Punjab has issued letter to all gov. hospital not to entertain any foreign student for internship and house job (unless all Pakistani graduates are settled in first).
So its very difficult to find internship. Many private and federal institutions are offering internship but you have to pay the fee. Obviously if you have contacts and if your parents are of medical field is its good to go back to Pakistan as you would be given a better protocol. Otherwise no ones will pay attention towards you , its just an observer ship and hardy you will learn any important procedures.
Secondly you should keep in mind your future plans. If your interested in giving PMDC NEB exam then you must have work experience in Pakistani hospitals in order to know the way of diagnosis and generally the mentality of doctors, patients and the system itself.
Above all If you go abroad then then the intern of Chinese hospital wights high as compared with that of Pakistan. In order to learn more during internship you must follow the Self Study and Self Interest rule, as it is a core necessity while studying in china.

 

i will never suggest anyone to do internship in pakistan.if u r able to bear humilation and want to be ignored by pakistani graduates and doctors.....then go for internship in pakistan......no one is there to help u....u r on your own in the hospital......but in DHQ hospitals situation is somewhat better......because in small city people know u and your family......but in big set ups like jinnah,,,,,services ,,,,,,mayo.......u will just come......look around and go back to your home.......i personally suggest if u want to do internship to abolish your anxiety that u will learn everything in hospital...then do it just for 3-4 months mainly in medicine and surgery.After that u will be able to understand that u have wasted your time.....just study during internship time....becoz we foreign graduates dont have enough time in china to complete our books.....pakistani graduates have different system of studies....they are imposed to study.....but in our case ......frankly speaking.....we r free to do whatever we want......so dont waste your time.....try to finish your defficencies......during this time.....i also wasted 6 months of my life while doing internship.....now i m regreting why i wasted my time....becoz i was not entertained by any person in the hospital....and due to constant frustration......i left this business......in hospital u will see previously recognized medical graduates from xian and xinjiang medical universities.....most of them are very poor in studies,,,,but u can say it was there luck that Allah exempted them from NEB exam....they will show off in front of u....that there was something in our university that PMDC recognized us......reality we all better know....They should vote Zardariiii for his courteous consideration....that made them to enjoy houseofficer life in big hospital of pakistan.....so work hard and study well and get through pmdc.... ,,,,,these all stuff u r going to do officially in your housejob.....InshAllah......Long live China.....which provide us a wonderfull lifetime experience......we all will do well in future.....but after passing pmdc....... :mrgreen:

yes i m graduate from xinjiang medical university, 1st batch, passed pmdc in 2007 and i have nothing to do with its recognition or de-recognition ! and dont be jealous with our university's level or underestimate it, all universities in china i consider them at same level

 

sorry brother......i dont want to hurt u......but last time u simply rejected my post.....i dont know why.....but brother i got alot of friends in xinjiang medical university.....they told me everything about xinjiang.....brother i do consider that chinese education level for foreigners is not good....but brother in china.....the only thing that matter....is your own devotion towards your studies.....one of my friend who is also your classfellow from NWFP....he is still living in china.....have done his masters from xinjiang.....i will not mention his name.......he got 14 suppliess in different subjects.....but he passed pmdc.....that time in first attempt too.....in your time pmdc was quite easier than now......now situation is very frustrating......u can ask from foreign graduates.....if u check on wikipedia......xinjiang is c grade university of china....with least research publications in china.....brother u know all these things....brother xinjiang is not good place to live and study......it is cheaper than other china.....but brother just study is not a big deal.....studying in xinjiang...is just like u r living in 20 years forward pakistan....if someone seek advice from u.....advise him to got southern part or real mainland f china....environment and living is much better there....in xinjiang only pakistani students are there......but in southern areas.....u will find alot of foreign students from all over the world......it will let u know there customs....there views about ur country and so many things that u will not be able to know in xinjiang......thats it.....dont take it personal.....i really respect u ...becoz u r doing very great job.....but brother to guide someone in right way is also a good deed.....now fee of xinjiang is almost same as other listed universities.....so guide someone to a good university......i heard many shihezi university graduates abusing xinjiang medical university level.....meet them and ask them about your university level....brother u passed pmdc becoz of your hardwork....u better know how much your own classfellows are capable of......dont take it personal....and once again sorry....becoz senior is always your senior......Allah hafiz

well ur friends which are currently studying in there dont know the value of where they are, ask them when they have done their house jobs and then they will say opposite thing to u.
yes its ranking is lower but not as lower as u described, now adays many othery countries students are studying there. I am not saying its the best university, ofcourse the main land universities rank higher than it, but its not bad too.
well pmdc is still easier, but the factor changed is the corruption, then it was no corruption or very very less, and now its much, so u get the difference.
shihezi's ranking is even lower than xmu, if they abuse they have their own reasons and may be not justified.

If your Chinese language is good enough to communicate then China is far much better place to do internship.

Hi dr.watson ,I heard that PMDC exam will be on 17 feb , do u think 1 month preparation is enough for PMDC part 1 )

Yes, it will be on 17th Feb.
Well depends on your concepts, if you think you have enough knowledge then go ahead for exam attempt.
There is no short review or shortcut to prepare for any exam, you need to clear your basic concepts.

 

It is.better to sit in exam whether you are prepared or not. Will be an experience for next time.
