LSMF/LDS Conversion to MBBS/BDS

Foreign medical or dental graduates, registered as equivalent to LSMF or LDS after passing registration examination of National Examination Board of PM&DC (Pakistan Medical and Dental Council) shall not be awarded a paid house job, however, they may be allowed honorary observer ship for three years in an approved hospital on a request endorsed by the PM&DC office. After completion of this three year observership /internship, the LSMF or LDS shall be converted into full registration equivalent to MBBS or BDS as the case may be.

Drwatson, I think LSMF & LDS were awarded to the foreign graduates with less than 60% marks in FSc before 2007. Could u plz explain this?

4. WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN L.S.M.F AND R.M.P?

L.S.M.F stands for Licentiate of State Medical Faculty, (had been issued till 2007, after than its not issued any more) and was not equal to R.M.P, having limitations that one could not do Govt. job, House Job, or further studies in Pakistan. One could do private practice in private hospitals or in one's own clinic.

LSMF was previously issued by PMDC to the graduates having less than 60% marks in FSC, but its no longer issued by PMDC in any circumstances. The graduates getting admission in foreign countries with less than 60% FSC marks, after 2007, are not eligible to appear in PMDC Exam.

20. Foreign medical or dental graduates, after passing registration examination of
National Examination Board of PM&DC shall be registered provisionally for
housejob purposes after notification by the Federal Government and will be
required to complete one year mandatory house job from the date of issue of the
PM&DC provisional registration

 

The rules including above mentioned has been amended
"the Council in its 117th meeting on 8th November 2010 has made the following
regulations which have been amended in the 118th meeting of the Council held on 3rd
April 2011."

Well, the rules of PMDC keeps changing, and i havent found detail about LSMF/LDS on pmdc site about its definition. In 2008 about the rules of 60%, the LSMF was said not to be issued any further, but the point in discussion is included in the rules 2010.
However, it is not indicating the issuance of LSMF now, but it may be pointing to the LSMF holders yet not converted to MBBS or so.
Any one else, may shed light in this regard.

 

After completion of this three year House job Then They Will GET RMP??

OR Can LSMF/LDS get Paid house job in Private Sector or Not???

 

LSMF/LDS cant get pay, he/she only can get Observership in a teaching hospital, after permission from PMDC. After 3 years of observership, one can be recognized as MBBS, with full registration.

 

drhamid, this is about the housejob, when u get passed in PMDC, u get PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION that is you can only do housejob on that registration. After successful housejob completion, you get the FULL REGISTRATION.

yes this already has been mentioned in the first post
But now LSMF LDS is not awarded after 2007

 

but people who got admission before 2007, still have opportunity to get at least lsmf.

 

Who got admission before 2007 with less than 60% is a different matter and should be asked to PMDC. Lawfully, they should be able to get LSMF/LDS
