AOA! watson sir n others kindly guide me with best of ur consideration! i had already many posts in this immensely helpful forum...sir i have completed my gradution bt i have to go to china nxt month to get my degree,i have got required bands in IELTS,my parents r there in uk m in pak,i m in a gr8 confusion n i asked ppl to get info abt career in uk,thy have suggested me to come to uk pass plab n start ur career here,bt i want to have ur suggestion,i want to take plab 1 either september or november attempt,i have to start my prep from now on bt omdc attempt is there in july,if i start to prepare for both thn it seems bit difficult bcz i think both of the examz require sound preparation,plz guide me wt should i do,should i leave pmdc n solely concentrate on plab or wt to do?yet there r some confusions bt i hope u mst b having better exposure n experience to these circumstances!as there is a matter of stdy hours aacording to gmc our med school had less thn 55oohrs,is it a problm?n if i want to take my plab 1 in uk thn do u have info wt are the documents required to apply for visa? m thinking of taking plab bcz pmdc itself takes 1 n a half year tht is if u're lucky enough! this lengthy post may b tiring bt i dnt have other option to express n get a good guideline,please plz plz i request to reply it soon,GOD bless u to help others! ......

What i suggest for you is to Do preparation for PMDC and PLAB, preparation is not different for them. PLAB concentrates on clinical side whereas PMDC checks both basic and clinical knowledge. Attempt your PMDC and then PLAB also whenever its date is and be prepared mentally for both, believe me it wont be difficult if you leave your confusion aside.
Lets say if you clear your PMDC and PLAB both and complete your housejob in UK then PMDC will also accept that housejob and will give your permanent RMP. Thats what is called aik teer se do shikar. But if you skip PMDC and do PLAB and do your house job there, you will have to attempt PMDC and do house job after PMDC again, according to PMDC Rules. I hope you are clear about this now.
study hours less than 5500 Hours may be a problem according to the criteria written on GMC site but they also say that "Whether a qualification is acceptable will be decided at the point of dealing with an application for registration. " So you must apply for PLAB. I know few doctors who have passed PLAB exam and their study hours were less than 5500 Hours.
Either you want to take PLAB inside UK or outside UK the documents requirement is the same. Please refer to the link i given in above post.
Prepare for both PLAB and PMDC together and attempt both of them, you will get success in both InshaALLAH. PMDC exams dont take 1 and half year but about 4-5 months for all steps if you pass them in one go. ......

well sir!now m relying totally on ur guideline,as i have to prepare for both properly omdc n plab,i dnt have mch time left for july pmdc attempt,can i just rely on the review books n pmdc format?? ......

the key thing for PMDC or any exam is CONCEPTS, if you have already good basic and clinical concepts then you can just rely on review books, if not you will have to revise your university lectures too coz they are brief and to the point. PMDC Format doesnt cover all the subjects and do not rely just on that. Going through the text books is not possible in short time. WELL I HAVE ANOTHER question to ask i came across few days back,sir plz let me know how to update the status of medical scool in the AVICENNA directory,my university is listed as school but actually its UNIVERSITY and GMC makes an issue of it to register after PLAB,plz let know how to update it or any alternate option??????????/ ......

well the institutions status can be updated by the institutions themselves and not by the students of them. You will have to request your dean in this regard. If any of your senior has cleared PLAB and got registered with GMC then it wont be a problem. If thats really a problem, please contact your university to request status update for avicenna directory.
