The Role

The Darling River Medical Centre (part of Ochre Health) iand the town of Bourke seeking an energetic doctor with obstetrics skills (Caesar capable) to join and possibly lead the team.

The successful applicant will provide General Practice, Hospital, Visiting Medical Officer and Aboriginal Health Service consultations in and around the town of Bourke, Western NSW and be on call regarding after-hours hospital work.GP/VMO.

The centre employs three full time doctors, and also provides services to the local Aboriginal Health Service. The centre includes regular visits from out of town specialists. The local Hospital has 20 acute beds offering both obstetric and anaesthetic service when available. There are also 12 long stay beds.

In the outback of NSW, the iconic Australian town of Bourke hosts the only Obstetric unit in 720,000 square kilometres; an area approximately 8 times the size of Tasmania. The town has a proud history of providing consistent and high quality health services for over 100 years
